Saturday stuff

This being Saturday, Husband and I went out for breakfast.  This is a weekly date, gives us a reason to get out of bed at a reasonable hour on a weekend.
We surprised the waitress by doing something different.
We decided to share a Leroy omelette with trimmings, and then each of us got a stack of pancakes.  Mighty fine eats, although we agree that the McDonald’s up the street has better pancakes.  Both places warm the syrup.
And McD’s has better coffee, no surprise there after all the legal hassles about their coffee.
Then the trip to SAM’s Club.  Where was this place when I had the hungry hordes of sons eating anything that wasn’t nailed down?  Husband says I am expensive, what with all I wanted to be putting into the cart, but I told him all that would have cost so much more at any other store.
The roast went into the crockpot the minute we got home, and the vege beef soup will be ready in about ten minutes.
While prepping for the soup, there was a feline observer.

This is Mahalia, who worries too much.

Mahalia has a very concerned look. Are you sure you are cooking that soup right? Your Saturday morning dates sounds like the stuff good marriages are made of!

I too am expensive when I’m at Sam’s Club but I just can’t bring myself to pay $7. or $8.for a can of coffee at the super market. Since we moved up to Otisville we don’t buy as much as we used to but the coffee, t.paper, paper towels, softener salt, kitty litter, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter and the books all add up to a big savings for us.

    Stay healthy and warm—- Momma

I have no car, and since it’s gotten cold, I can’t walk to the grocery store anymore. So when I do get a chance to go to the grocery store (when they decide to go get more junk food), I tend to buy a lot of food. This is about once every two weeks, and I spend about $60 at sams, or $80 at Meijer or Walmart. Either way, it lasts me about two weeks.
