A New CD is Worthwhile

My Reba: Duets cd arrived a couple days ago, but today was the first chance I had to listen to it.
several good songs, but the one I wanna get chummy with is

Everyday People, a duet with Carole King

College Kids turning 21
in their senior year Spring Break was here
They headed south…
but not for sun on their skin
Where the storms had been
It was hard, fixing windows and shingles and doors
And tired never felt so good before…

Everyday People are the ones who are making miracles
And it’s beautiful,
Everyday People lifting up the world
Like an answered prayer, I thank God they’re there
They’re the ones who care
Everyday People…

Doctor said
“Good News we caught it soon enough, we can clear this up”
But she’s thirty and single with two kids to raise
Times are tough these days
So her friends made some calls and the word spread around
How her bills got paid she don’t know how.

Everyday People are the ones who are making miracles
And it’s beautiful,
Everyday People lifting up the world
Like an answered prayer, I thank God they’re there
They’re the ones who care
Everyday People….

A little girl takes her Mama’s hand
And walks inside saying “Please don’t cry”
As the people who built this house just for them
Laugh through the tears as a family moves in…

Everyday People are the ones who are making miracles
And it’s beautiful,
Everyday People lifting up the world like an answered prayer,
I thank God they’re there,
They’re the ones who care,
Everyday People…
Everyday People…

Everyday People…

there is an insert which says Reba supports Habitat for Humanity
“Together, we can eliminate poverty, one family at a time.”

I was delighted when you emailed me and sent me your blog address, Diane. After that new version of Firefox installed and wiped all my bookmarks I feared I’d never find you again, as well as many others that I still haven’t rediscovered.

Hope all is well with you and yours, and once again, have a wonderful Autumn week. 🙂

    Love and hugs,

    Diane J.

What beautiful examples of humans working to help humanity. I do not think I have heard this song yet. I will (on U-tube) before I turn off my PC tonight.

Reba has a positive outlook. I can’t share it with her right now. None of those examples relate to anyone I know or myself. They are so rare. Those sorts of “miracles” seem like winning lotto numbers to me. A nice dream, but hardly a practical solution and never a reality.

I absolutely love Reba!!!!!! I saw her in concert at least 4 times 3 of which were with Brookes and Dunn and once with Shania Twain and 4 other great country singers it was called the girls night out concert.
I would love to go and see her again…
Did you watch her on Crossroads with kelly Clarkston?

  4. MrsDoF says:

No, I didn’t see Crossroads. Is it on cable? cuz we don’t get cable.

I learned about the DUETS cd when Reba and Kelly and Justin sang together on OPRAH. Yeah, I’ll admit, I watch her show after I’ve checked the tv listings to see who is the guest of the day.

Husband got me the cd as an anniversary gift.

MrsSEB, I hope your reality takes a turn for the positive soon. Sometimes ya have to be looking up through the bottom when bright light gleams.

I’ve known many people who helped to build Habitat houses. In fact, although I have no interest whatsoever about wielding a hammer or using an electric saw, I have been on Cook’s Crew for several labor teams. It’s just a matter of finding a place to fit in with my own talents.

A work team from my church went down to Mississippi last week to help with re-building after Katrina. Two years later, there is still much to be restored for what happened in a day.
