a song I remember from Open Mike at Latte Time. Google says it comes from the play Porgy and Bess
Summertime
And the livin’ is easy,
Fish are jumpin’
And the cotton is high.
Oh yo’ daddy’s rich
An’ yo’ ma is good lookin’
So hush, little baby,
Don’t you cry.One of these mornin’s,
You’s gonna rise up singin’
Then you’ll spread yo’ wings
An’ you’ll take the sky.
But till that mornin’,
There’s ain’t nothin’ can harm you
With your Daddy an’ Mummy
Standin’ by.

“Is this what summer is all about or what? Kick back, feet up, and ice cream. Oh how wonderful life can be at 2.”
Love Brenda
She is one of my cousin’s granddaughters. What relation would I be to her? Second cousin once removed or somesuch.
She’s so cute. I’ll claim any kinship I can.

Lovely pic – summer personified. And I can’t read the words of that song without hearing the tune and saying it as if it is being sung
Really cute!
I can taste the ice cream and I’m with Doris on the singing thing. In fact that is exactly what I did as I read those wonderful words!
Good times!!
How ADORABLE! Now *that* is the life!
Great song, cute child….what could be more like summer. Enjoyed your post.
What a cutie pie, that pic shows summer in a nutshell.
Very cute – and summery! What a life when the ‘livin is easy’, indeed!
Hi, I am glad you like the picture. I am that cutie pie’s mom. The little imp. She told me that she was “watchin the river momma”. Even more impressive when you realize she is only 2.5 and is enjoying the little bit of summer that we get here in Fairbanks.
Awww, that’s sweet, Barbie
Ahh, yes, the river. In the Spring I posted a picture of the swans on the river’s ice patch.
Apparently, the youngster is smart as well as cute. She comes from good genes, right?
